One Vision Room Design Tutorial – This step-by-step tutorial explains how to design a room in the form of a single point of view. An example is a bedroom, but the same themes can create other spaces with different furniture.

This tutorial can be beneficial when drawing background anime or manga backgrounds and applying them to other art styles.

Drawing Room For One View

A single point of view means one point that disappears. Disappearance refers to a place where objects in a painting turn a dot or disappear into a distance.

Before You Start Drawing

If you draw on paper, make sure you draw bright lines that you can easily erase.

If you are painting digitally, you have many options, but generally, you will want to clear the instructions/view lines after each step and the parts of the objects that will be combined with other things.

Step 1 – Drawing Room

First, draw a horizontal line to represent the level of the eye. That level is the level of eye viewers concerning the scene (also known as the horizon line). The perforated area will be located directly on this line and in the middle of your drawing.

Next, draw a back wall (rectangle in this case). From this point of view, draw straight lines across each rectangle corner to the edge of your drawing area. Clear the view lines inside the rectangle on the wall after you are done (leave the horizontal line).

It would help if you instead had a drawing of an empty room.

Step 2 – Drawing Objects / Furniture In The Room

To put everything in order correctly, draw the shape of each object, even if it will be slightly covered with other things in the room.

Drawing the Basics with a Single Point of View

Start by drawing objects/furniture in the back of the room. In these examples, simply remove the front of the thing and draw lines to look at each corner. Then a back shape based on the lines of view.

First, you need to properly set all the primary conditions to avoid deleting/deleting more work than you should if you make a mistake. Keep drawing perfect patterns for other furniture in the room until you place all the big things. Do not draw details.

Draw a desk.

Draw a computer monitor once you have drawn all the furniture.

Step 3 – Drawing a Computer Chair

First, draw the shape of the front side of the seat (a type similar to the silhouette). Look at the project lines and remove the backside based on the front side.

Use the image above to position the rounded corners on the bottom/back of the seat.

Extend the legs part of the chair by drawing a kind of frame around the first direction of the legs.

Draw the backrest by re-drawing the front shape and the lines of view.

Draw the seat part on the backrest by starting with a sharp corner.

Add round corners and clear guidelines.

Step 4 – Draw Details of Objects in the Room

Use the viewing guides to set up furniture details.

To draw the doors in the cupboard (or line the dividing line between them), draw an “x” shape on the door from corner to corner, where these crosses will be the dividing line between the wickets.

Placing the doors in the cupboard, you can first draw a small one with a rectangular view of the doors. Draw the parts where the door handles are attached to the rectangle’s corners.

Design sliding doors by re-using the view lines.

Step 5 – Draw Bed Details

Based on the rectangular prism rectangle (3d rectangle), draw a bed.

Remove the corners and draw some edges.

Step 6 – Drawing Window and Curtains

Finally, draw the window and curtains.

Since the window and curtains do not need a visual sketch, in this case, you can draw them as you see.

Conclusion

Drawing a learning concept can be very difficult and time-consuming, but you have to be skilled if you want to be a dedicated artist. Anime and manga are drawing too. However, if you read the idea drawing, it can make your pictures look impressive by giving the 2d image a deeper look.
